Kindling

Hebrews 12:29
… for our God is a consuming fire.

Life
Is an opportunity
To make the most
Out of God –

-- To let God
Make the most
Out of me.

All we see
Is just kindling
Kindling.

Whose greatest purpose
Highest pleasure

Is to be set on fire of God

To blaze as long
And as hard and as hot
As our molecules can manage.

For God can make
Even ragged driftwood
Into a thing of scintillating glory;

A blaze that thunders.
And crackles and shines. And warms.
Then embers.
Then darkness.
And what comes next.

I am
A scream of exhilaration
That dissolves into echoes.
You are.

Know Love:
A force that requires
Dying.

We are here.

To be consumed.
Until there is
Nothing left
But the Fire
Himself.

Nothing left
But the Fire
Himself.

Praise the Lord John. May there be a way to present ourselves as that living sacrafice aflame, on fire, consumed by that grace and love that proceeds from that heavenly altar whose burning coals even touched the lips of that one named Isaiah.
