I must learn to seek God
Not poetry.
I must learn to see God
Not what He can do for me.
Allow my soul
To be dazzled by His brilliance,
His shining face
Foremost.
The things He has to give
Are already mine.
But Himself,
Himself also,
Himself more.
I must clutch
And sputter
And grasp after Him
A man standing beneath a waterfall
Mouth open
Drinking eternity
With a body
Fragile as a dry leaf
A mind
Like a thimble.
